RESPONSIBLE TO: Centre Manager
PURPOSE OF JOB:
BIC is looking for a Neighbourhood Coordinator, who will lead and organise activities to tackle the disadvantages faced by Bangladeshi Men since Covid-19. Deliver a support programme to reduce isolation and boost confidence for those facing loneliness, mental stress and suffering from grief. Create opportunities to gain soft skills, get involved in volunteering opportunities and enjoy life for the for the most disadvantaged Bangladeshi Men.
You will have a background in Community Work, with an extensive knowledge of barriers faced by Bangladeshi Men. You will have excellent communication and IT skills, administrative skills and be fully competent on Microsoft applications. You will have the ability to work independently and part of a team.
Hourly Rate: £20.00
Hours of Work: 7 Hours per week
Salary: £7,280
Length of Contract: Fixed Term until March 2025.

JOB TITLE: Employment Support Worker
RESPONSIBLE TO: Centre Manager
PURPOSE OF JOB: To deliver and manage the Employment Programme and meet its aims and outcomes. To encourage, inspire and support the positive personal development of people towards the job market.
The role is solely working on BBO BRIDGES, which is funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund
STARTING DATE: 04 January 2021
NOTICE PERIOD: One month either side
DISCLOSURE: The successful candidate will not be confirmed into post until a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) has been carried out and the results are satisfactory.
SALARY: £19,500.00
HOURS OF WORK: 30 hours per week
CONTRACT: 15 months fixed term
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 6 months
LOCATION: Sandwell
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to the needs of unemployed people looking for work
- Identify the barriers towards the job market for unemployed people
- Support Local People get job ready
- Providing one to one IAG for clients
- Facilitate sessions around employability skills and training
- Mentoring and supporting individuals to encourage empowerment and confidence
- Advertise and recruit people to the project and on occasions give formal presentations
- Work with local partners to promote and develop activities
- Maintain and administer all relevant data needed to record and report on the project
- To report in meetings to the Manager and other committees
- To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to, including Health & Safety and Child Protection Policies
- Any other BBO BRIDGES related tasks
Key Requirements:
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Experience in identifying the needs and support to get people closer towards the job market
- Deliver employment support sessions such as CV preparations and interview techniques.
